PREMISE

premise.

This was it; the final Sailor War between Chaos, the senshi, the shitennou, and their allies. And as to be expected, it was not an easy one. Casualties were suffered on each side and slowly, one by one, the sailor senshi and the shitennou were conquered...but not without putting their all into the battle and taking out as many of Chaos's subordinates as possible. By the end of the battle, a very weakened Chaos was left standing, face to face with Sailor Moon and a dying Sailor Neptune and Sailor Mars; the rest had all died earlier in the battle. The three remaining senshi teamed up for the last time, fulfilling their duties as sailor soldiers. Likewise, Chaos battled as hard as anyone, sending a fatal blow to Neptune with one more aimed at Moon. But it was Sailor Mars who, in the end, took the attack aimed at Usagi; pushing her friend out of the way and dying instantly. Though she was sure she was done for and having no fight left in her, it was this gesture of friendship and love that Mars showed that gave Usagi the final push that she needed. And with that, she destroyed Chaos; the same villain that destroyed everyone she held close to her. And then...it was over, leaving only Sailor Moon standing as the victor amongst the dead all around her, though just barely alive herself and excruciatingly weak from battle.

Despite the fact that the senshi, shitennou, and their allies had finally beat Chaos and her allies, Usagi realized that evil would not be vanquished forever...and in order to truly save the universe, she was going to have to take desperate measures; she would have to send the sailor crystals and star seeds of those around her to the future...to battle any forces that would no doubt disturb the peace she and her allies had tried so hard to defend. Though it might have seemed like the perfect solution, there were also some risks that went along with it. What if the next generation of sailor senshi rejected their pasts and their roles as soldiers? Not to mention that should her attempts actually work, there was an incredibly, almost certain chance that she would also send along former villains to be reincarnated in the future as well. Furthermore, should she actually go through with it and use the last of her powers, Usagi would certainly die. But what other choice did she have, especially when the fate of the universe was at stake? So, using the last of her power, Usagi sent the sailor crystals and seeds of those around her to be reincarnated into a future generation. Unfortunately, her power wasn't so strong or specific that she could individually pick out who the crystals and seeds would go to, though she knew each person would eventually meet up somewhere in the future, and, hopefully accept their destiny and save the universe once again. With this thought on her mind, Usagi closed her eyes for the last time and fell into death.

Present day United States of America seems completely normal; no disturbances, no terrorist attacks, nothing. But something is rotten in the state of New York. It wasn't too long after Sailor Moon's death that a new negative energy began collecting power, biding its time before it could spring out and hold the merciless universe within its clutches. And with no sailor senshi or shitennou to stop it, what was standing in its way? Though not strong enough to enact its plan just yet, The Darkness took root in busy New York City, quickly feeding off of energy from the millions of citizens and tourists who walked the streets everyday, completely unsuspecting. However, this new negative energy isn't going unnoticed by everyone...as The Darkness settled itself into the city, the sailor crystals and seeds that Usagi had sent to the future are realizing that the universe is in danger and are thus beginning to reawaken their owners. And much as she had predicted, the good guys aren't the only ones reawakening. Being beckoned forward by The Darkness, the seeds and crystals within former villains are starting to reawaken too. Not only that, but entirely new villains are being recruited by this new enemy, only making The Darkness's army that much stronger; possibly even stronger than Usagi had anticipated. Something is terribly wrong within New York City and a fight for the universe is about to ensue.

---

Starlight is a next generation Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon game, where all of the former senshi are dead and new senshi have taken their places. Alongside them fight the next generation of shitennou, reincarnated villains, and the reborn friends that the girls knew back in their lifetimes. With a new enemy (The Darkness) waiting to strike, the senshi and shitennou are reawakening and remembering their pasts as soldiers destined to save the universe that their enemies seem so intent on destroying. The fate of the universe rests within the hands of these newly awakened sailor senshi and once they're awakened, the life of a normal American girl is no longer an option. Fighting alongside their leader, Sailor Moon, the new sailor senshi must become accustomed to their new lives, their new powers, and also come to terms with who they used to be. After all, it is their destiny, and also the destiny of the universe.

Original concept and design goes to the now closed community, Moonlit Destiny.
